ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The search for a person to lead economic development in Albany and Dougherty County is in full swing.

The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission sent out surveys to chamber members and the business community asking what they're looking for in an EDC President. The survey asks questions such as "In your opinion, what are the most critical issues facing businesses in the Albany-Dougherty area?"

"What we need is someone with senior leadership experience, we're looking for someone not only with the talent and the skills and those personality traits that will aid in the marketing of this community, but also that hands on experience of successful economic development work in other areas," said Bobby McKinney, Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission.

The nationwide search is expected to take 90 to 120 days, with a new President in place by November.
