ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An alley-paving project in Albany is running out of money. Rising fuel and asphalt costs have led to a $300,000 shortfall in the $3 Million sales tax paving project.
That means the city now may not be able to pave all of the alleys on the list, including one behind 8th Avenue. Commissioners are looking to see if money can be reallocated to finish the project.
Other alleys that may miss out on the project are Wingate Alley, Mercer Alley, Endicott Alley, Partridge Alley and Radium Spring Alley from Sunset to Whitehead.
