ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you catch a cab in Albany, it may soon cost you more. Albany commissioners Tuesday tentatively approved allowing cab companies to charge customers a $1.25 fuel surcharge.
The surcharge isn't intended to increase profits for taxi drivers, just help them make up for the escalating price of fuel. If commissioners approve it August 26th, the surcharge will go into effect immediately. It will be reviewed next year and possibly increased or decreased depending on the price of fuel.
