LaGrange - Albany American survived day one in the elimination bracket at the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series.

The Georgia state champions eliminated Arkansas 8-5 on Tuesday.

Albany American jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four innings.

Arkansas scored two runs in the fifth.

Albany American answered with two more in the top of the sixth and survived a three run rally by Arkansas in their final at bat.

Albany American plays the Tennessee/Virginia winner Wednesday at 6:00 p.m..
