ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County employees kick off getting hooked on health by taking part in a healthy stroll through downtown. Nearly 200 county workers participated in health screenings, a walk and an informative discussion about total body health at the Government center today.

The focus is to make sure all employees are healthy, happy and financially sound. Jawahn Ware said, "It's not just about a monetary standpoint. Dougherty County Board of Commissioners, we love our employees, we value them and we want them to be healthy, have a productive life, live longer and we all will do well. It's a win-win situation."

The program is being paid for by grant money and is free to all county employees and their families. They will be reevaluated in three months.
