ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Early voting is underway for the August 5th primary runoffs.

In Albany, voters trickled in Monday.  The only race on the ballot here is the Democratic U. S. Senate runoff between Vernon Jones and Jim Martin.     If you voted July 15th as a Democrat or didn't vote at all, you may vote in the runoff.

If you voted as a Republican, you'll have to sit this one out.

Luther McCain says early voting is a major convenience. "I'm glad for that so I can get up here and beat the crowd  I don't want my day tied up."

Voting in Dougherty county is taking place in the elections office on the 2nd floor of the government center between 8:30 and 5:00.
