ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Eighteen-year-old Vincent Soilberry was indicted for malice and felony murder, in the death of three year old Shondarious Roney.

On May 2nd, police responded to a home on South Jackson street in Albany where Roney was found unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The little boy was at home with the teenager, who was his mother's boyfriend.

Soilberry initially told investigators the boy drowned. They quickly discovered otherwise.

In the indictment, Prosecutors say Soilberry beat the boy so badly, it caused blunt force trauma to the little boy's torso and head, fractured ribs and ruptured his liver.

Soilberry's attorney said he is pleading not guilty to the charges.

If convicted, Soilberry faces life in prison.
