ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Colquitt County's Administrator J.D. Byrd has turned in his resignation and cleaned out his office.

Byrd's resignation is effective immediately. Byrd said the issues of his employment with the county was brought up during the County Commissioner's executive session Monday night.

During that meeting it was agreed Byrd would resign, but he won't say what lead up to the discussion, just that he serves at the will of the commissioners.

Byrd has been County Administrator for the last three years, and had previously worked for the county in the 80's and 90's in planning and code enforcement.
