New York, N.Y. - Leesburg's Buster Posey completed a clean sweep of the major college baseball awards by winning the prestigious Golden Spikes Award as the nation's top college baseball player on Wednesday.
Buster Posey adds the Golden Spikes Award to the other major awards he has won this year.
The list is stunning with the Johnny Bench Award, the Dick Howser Trophy and the Brooks Wallace Award. He was also named the national player of the year by the two major college baseball magazines in the nation.
The awards are definitely deserved after Buster Posey led the nation with a .463 batting average and 93 runs batted in and was third in home runs with 26.
Buster Posey becomes the fourth Florida State Seminole to win the Golden Spikes Award and the first since J.D. Drew.
Florida State has more Golden Spikes winners that any other school in the nation.
