ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Lee County elections office recruits high school students to get involved in the election process by working the polls.
Senior Brittany Dennison and Junior Marlee Hollomon worked their first election day helping voters register when they walked through the door. Neither one can vote, but both wanted to volunteer.
"I thought it would be boring but it's really not, I like the rush and everybody coming up at the same time because there's stuff to do and it helps out the community so that's always good," said Marlee.
Both girls plan to work the polls again in November.
