ALBANY, GA (WALB) - There is still no health insurance plan in place for Dougherty County employees. The county was in contract negotiations with Phoebe Health Partners. The initial contract proposal called for an exclusive contract with Phoebe Health Partners and facilities.

Now, insurance consultant Kirk Rouse is also working on a possible contract with Palmyra Medical Centers.  He said, "We're still working on some negotiations with the contract. We hope to meet with Palmyra next week and we're going to pursue that avenue before we get back and make a final presentation."

Rouse hopes to bring a contract before the commission for final approval within the next three weeks. Palmyra filed a lawsuit against Phoebe Putney Hospital and Health System on July 3rd accusing them of anti-trust practices, including exclusive contracts.
