ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Three long time former Dougherty County Commissioners endorse Greg Edwards in the Dougherty District Attorney's election. Gil Barrett, who was on the Dougherty County Commission for 40 years, 20 year veteran Commissioner George Brown, and Lamar Reese, who was on the Commission four years, all threw their support behind Edwards in the D.A. race.
The former Commissioners said Edwards has the best experience to handle the Office's two million dollar yearly budget, and 30 employees. Lamar Reese said "The person has to be a good administrator. They assign all the cases and make sure the cases are handled properly. They manage your tax dollars well."
Edwards has worked in the Dougherty D.A. office for almost 20 years. He is opposed by attorney Ingrid Driskell in the Democratic Primary in next Tuesday's election.
