Georgia has talent, but not much experience at tailback

July 7, 2008

Albany - Georgia sophomore running back Knowshon Moreno is one of the reasons that the Bulldogs are expected to be national championship contenders.

The Southeastern Conference's freshman of the year rushed for more than 1300 yards last season despite the fact he started only six of 13 games.

Moreno was one of three experienced backs for Georgia in 2007.

In 2008, he is the only tailback on the Georgia roster who has game experience.

Caleb King hopes to follow in Moreno's footsteps.

King was one of the top rated high school running backs in the nation two years ago.

Due to the depth, Georgia was able to redshirt King in 2007 and he showed signs in the spring he is ready to contribute to the Bulldog offense.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt said "Caleb hasn't played a down and we have got three true freshmen behind them. So, there is a lot of unproven talent. A lot of talent but unproven so we have got to see how they do."

Georgia opens the season on August 30th at home against Georgia Southern.
