Adel - The Governor wants Georgia kids to go outside and play!
A new program called Get Outdoors Georgia promotes activities at state parks and encourages kids and families get outside.
All state parks, including Reed Bingham spruced up recreational facilities.
They're also emphasizing outdoor and educational activities and programs to help lure families out to play.
"Kids just aren't getting outdoors like they use to and we want to get people back in touch with outdoors, with nature and do it in an active way so they are getting exercise and becoming healthier doing that," says Ronnie Eakins, Parks Region 3 Operations Manager.
They hope it will help instill healthy habits for today's youth.
