ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County commissioners endorsed one of their own in his re-election bid Monday.

Commissioner Art Searles is running for re-election for the district five position he's held since 2001.

Searles was surrounded by fellow commissioners Jeff Sinyard, Muarlean Edwards, John Hayes, Charles Lingle, and Jack Stone, who endorsed him in his bid for re-election.

"Art works real well with the commission. He works hard for his constituents. He does what's right. Everyway you look at it and what he does is the best thing for the people of Dougherty County," said Stone.

Contractor Harry James is running against Searles for the district five seat.
