ALBANY, GA (WALB) - There were more than just firecrackers popping in Albany this holiday. Police are now investigating two shootings that happened on the fourth.

Police were called out to the 900 block of West Whitney just after 8:00 PM on the 4th of July. Several people there told police they were out on there front porches when they heard what they thought was a firecracker.

Turns out it was a bullet, and Nicole Brown was hit in her left ankle. She was treated and released at Phoebe.

The second shooting happened 20 minutes later at a park in the 600 block of Residence. A witness told police that two men got into a verbal altercation. One of the men went to his car, got a gun and began shooting. No one was hurt.
