ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Right now, Albany Police are on the look-out for three people last seen leaving the scene of a shooting in East Albany a little after 7:30 Thursday night.

38-year-old Dexter Williams was shot once in the back in the 300 block of Clark Avenue.

He was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he's in surgery right now. Police don't think his injuries are life threatening.

Williams was apparently riding in a Chevy Suburban with several other people right before he was shot.

"Mr. Williams was riding in the car with three other people, and for some unknown reason, he jumped out of the car and was then wounded by someone in the car," said Phyllis Banks-Whitley, Albany Police Media Manager.

Police are on the look-out for the car Williams and the three others were riding in. Some witnesses told Police the late model Chevy Suburban was green, others said it was burgundy.

It was last seen going east on Clark Avenue. If you have any information that could help police, call crime stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
