Bandana bandit strikes again

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police think the early morning armed robbery of a Northwest Albany motel could be the sixth hold up pulled by the same man.

The Holiday Inn on Dawson Road may be the latest victim of the "Bandana Bandit", and Police are again asking your help in catching him.

Just before six Tuesday morning a man armed with a pistol robbed the desk clerk in the lobby of the Holiday Inn. His disguise and M.O. are almost exactly the same as five other armed robberies in Albany since Father's Day, except this time the bandit wore a white bandana over his face and hat. In the other five robberies he wore a red bandana, but Investigators think it could be the same armed robber.

Again he was very calm and deliberate, handed the clerk a plastic bag and demanded they put the money from the register into it, and then ran.

Police want you to look at this surveillance video of a man they call a person of interest they want to talk to about these armed robberies. This video was taken June 15th at the Express Lane Chevron at Gillionville and Lockett Station Roads a couple of hours before that store was robbed.

If you recognize this man, Police want to hear from you. Call CRIME STOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
