ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A candidate for Dougherty District Attorney says he has a record of supporting children and health issues.

Greg Edwards and his supporters told reporters that he's helped children through gang prevention and moral education for 25 years.

District Attorney Candidate Greg Edwards said "I am not someone who has not begun these efforts just for the purpose of politics. I have always worked for the betterment of our youth, and betterment of health and other issues that affect our community."

Former Dougherty County Commissioner George Brown, who served South and East Albany for 22 years, endorsed Edwards.

Edwards is running against attorney Ingrid Driskell in the July Democratic Primary.
