The Girl's Inc. West Albany headquarters was burglarized for the second time in two weeks, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

The break-in was discovered Sunday at the Girl's Inc. building in the 700 block of Park Place.

Crooks broke out the back window and damaged three vending machines. The thieves got only about $50 in cash, but repairs to the machines and the window is estimated to be at least $2000.

Two weeks ago burglars broke in the same window, but took nothing. Girl's Inc. Executive Director LaKisha Bryant said "Every dollar that we have to spend in replacements. Fixing windows, updating security equipment, it's a dollar taken out of programming that affects the lives of children in the community."

The break in did not stop any of Girl's Inc. summer program events. Officials are improving their security at both their East and West Albany locations.
