ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Metal thieves target an East Albany construction site for the third time this year, causing $30,000 in damages.

On Monday morning, contractors at Barkley Estates on East Fourth Avenue found nine air conditioning units had been stolen over the weekend. Police say the metal thieves are after the aluminum and copper inside the air conditioner units.

Contractors say this is the third time metal thieves have hit their site since February, and that it will cost $30,000 to repair this weekend's thefts.

Police say they have no suspects, and ask you to call CRIME STOPPERS, 436-TIPS, if you have any information.
