BOSTON, GA (WALB) - A Savannah man was killed in a freak accident in Thomas County.
Forty-nine-year-old Dallas Picket was mowing grass in the front yard on some property he owned in Boston when a tree fell on him and killed him. The tree was apparently cut down by a tree service in the backyard and fell the wrong way.
Yvonne McBurrow, a neighbor who knew Picket from childhood said, "It's very sad news because you know I know his mom, we're very close spiritually wise. I just hate for this to go. . . even to all of the family, sympathies for all of the family because anytime anything like this happens its going to touch all of the family and friends.
The accident happened Wednesday. He died last night. Picket was an assistant principal at Windsor Forest High School in Savannah.
