ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The wife of an Albany State Senator is being investigated in a case of political sign vandalism.   Peggy Meyer von Bremen is the wife of District 12 Senator Michael Meyer von Bremen.

She's named in a complaint that Senatorial candidate John White filed with police. White says two of his campaign signs on Westover Boulevard were intentionally hit by a car and that a witness told a campaign worker the car was a Lexus with a State Senate District 12 prestige tag.

The witness wouldn't talk to police, but the campaign worker did. She told police the driver hit one sign, then turned around and drove back and hit another. The incident happened June 17th. The complaint was filed Wednesday.

Albany Police have not taken warrants. They told us they want to talk to Peggy Meyer von Bremen, but she's out of town. We couldn't reach her either.

Michael Meyer von Bremen is vacating the senate seat to run for the Georgia Court of Appeals.
