Tallahassee, Fl. - Florida State catcher Buster Posey was two homeruns short of becoming just the second player in college baseball history to win the triple crown.
The former Lee County Trojan though did win the triple crown in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
His .463 batting average, 26 homeruns and 93 rbi's were the most of any player in the conferrence.
Buster Posey is the fourth player in the ACC to win the conference's triple crown.
His batting average also breaks the FSU single season record held by Hahira's J.D. Drew.
Posey's led the nation in batting average and rbi's but finished third in the homerun race with 26.
Georgia's Gorodn Beckham and LSU's Matt Clark led the nation with 28.
Buster Posey learns tomorrow night if he will win the Johnny Bench Award.
That goes to the best catcher in college baseball.
Posey was the runner-up for the award last year.
