ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A well-known Ben Hill County law officer was laid to rest Wednesday.

57-year-old Captain Al Kelly died Saturday from complications from an infection.

Kelly was taken to Tift Regional hospital Friday night to be prepped for surgery. He was in ICU when his heart stopped.

His funeral was held this afternoon at the Church of God in Fitzgerald.

Captain Kelly was assigned to the Ben Hill County Drug Unit.
