Albany - In less than ten years, Darton College soccer coach Ken Veilands has built the Cavalier programs into the two of the best in the nation in the junior college ranks.
Veilands also is working on expanding the sport of soccer in south Georgia.
Darton College and the Albany YMCA have teamed up for a week long youth soccer camp.
The camp has attracted more than 120 young players from not only the Albany area but other towns in south Georgia.
Coach Veilands says the camp new some familiar faces and most important some new ones.
Ken Veilands said "It is spreading. It is growing and doing camps like this will help. Hopefully the kids will see they are having fun. That keeps them coming back and playing soccer."
The Darton soccer camp will end Thursday at Darton College.
