Macon - The college baseball season is ends this week and fans are already looking forward to the football season.
Tthe first game believe it or not is just under nine weeks away.
A sure sign that football season has started is the annual Peach State Pigskin Preview at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
Every college football team from the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech to Georgia Military College sent coaches and players to talk about the coming season.
When everyone is 0-0, there was plenty of optimism at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
Georgia tight end Tripp Chandler said "We know it is just around the corner. We are just fighting each and every day to get ready for that first game."
Georgia Tech defensive lineman Darryl Richard said "After the Celtics won the NBA finals, I knew there was pretty much nothing to do but football. It is definitely that wake-up call. You better be ready to play some football soon because it is right around the corner."
Valdosta State quarterback Tucker Pruitt said "We started workouts three or four weeks ago. Just trying to get everybody out there. Work hard so we can come into camp in shape and ready to go."
Valdosta State will play the first game in the nation this college football season when the Blazers host Fort Valley State on August 23rd.
