DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - One person was killed, and several others injured after a terrible wreck on the Liberty Expressway.
It happened at Highway 19 and Holly Drive just before 8PM Saturday.
Police say 36-year-old Jackie Smith was heading south on Highway 19 in a Honda Pilot, when she ran a red light, and hitting the driver's side of a Pontiac Grand Prix heading East on Holly Drive.
Two people were trapped inside the car.
Firefighters used the jaws of life to try and get the victims out, but the driver died.
Six people were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Smith will be charged with homicide by vehicle in the second degree and running a red light.
