ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The Albany State men's basketball team hosted its second-annual team hoops camp Saturday at HPER Gymnasium.Twenty-five teams from all over Georgia and North Florida were at the event.
The camp is an opportunity for players, coaches, and even officials to work on their skills, and Rams head coach Chris Cameron says its especially beneficial for the half-a-dozen middle school teams in attendance.
"That's an age group that rarely gets an opportunity to play in the summer time," says Cameron. "By them coming here, they get the opportunity to play a little bit, and be exposed to college, and other ball players their age from other places."
The camp wraps up Sunday, with play beginning at 10 a.m. and ending around 1 p.m.
