Cairo -- A Cairo family is homeless after flames caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Firefighters were called to 501 4th street Northeast Friday afternoon. That's were three units spent about 15 minutes getting the blaze under control.
Firefighters estimate flames caused about $20,000 worth of damage.
Three people were in the house at the time of the fire, but no one was hurt.
The cause of that fire is still under investigation.
A jury convicted a Crisp County man on two counts of child molestation Friday. The jury came back with a guilty verdict for Hermenegildo Virgil Friday.
