Murder suspect arrested in Thomasville

June 18, 2008

Thomasville-- The Thomas County sheriff's office charged 49-year-old Donald Wing, Jr. with murder and being a fugitive from justice.

They were brought into the case after the Tift county sheriff's office found Wing at a roadside motel and transported him to the Thomasville mental health facility because of strange comments he made.  Investigator Tim Watkins of the Thomas County Sheriff's Office said, "He made some statements that he was all alone that his mother was deceased. He did not admit to having anything to do with his mother being deceased."

Investigators checked with authorities in Citrus County, Florida where Wing lives. Authorities there found the body of 74-year-old Janet Wing, his mother. Wing will be sent back to Florida to face murder charges.
