Workcamp headed to Valdosta

Valdosta - Nearly 400 teens from all over the country will help Valdosta toward it's goal of eliminating substandard housing.

The teens are a part of the Group Workcamps Foundation, an organization that sends teens to different cities all over the nation.

370 teen will arrive in Valdosta this weekend and repair 39 homes for the elderly or disabled on a fixed incomes. 

"These kids coming in, being able to paint, build steps, build wheelchair ramps and build some decks for some home owners will be a big benefit for them and all us to improve our housing stock in the city," says Richard Joyner, Housing Rehabilitation Coordinator for the City of Valdosta.

The kids will arrive Sunday and work through Friday June 27th.
