Tifton -- Neighbors on a Tifton Street are rattled after a group of masked men forced themselves into 1507 Alder Road attacking four men and two women Sunday morning.

"They say that a couple of guys, about four or five of them, kicked the door in and went to rob some money and drugs and whatever. And they say one girl was shot and several others got pistol whipped," said neighbor, Rick Flowers.

Officers believe that the men brought at least three guns with them. Police don't know very many facts in this case, but they do know that the assailants entered and exited from the back door.

Tifton police don't have very many details at this point because the victims were either too traumatized or unwilling to cooperate because of their drug involvement. Officers couldn't even confirm the identify of the victims because they were given false names.

"Several people have moved in and out of that house," said Flowers. But neighbors say this isn't the first time this has happened here. "They got beat up pretty bad and whatever, but this is the second time this has happened over here. And about a couple of years ago a guy got killed right here in this same area."

And though they are used to this kind of activity here, they are still frustrated. "I am not surprised by it. It's just .... it's just something that needs to stop. If police will stop it, maybe this will stop," said Flowers.

They hope the men responsible for Sunday morning's attack are arrested. If you have any information related to this morning's home invasion, call the Tifton Police Department at 229-382-3132.
