A Mitchell County man is accused of beating his ex-girlfriend to death at a mobile home where she lived with another man.

Mitchell County Sheriff's Investigators say that  39-year old Terry Bryant forced his way into the home at Shady Grove Estates in Baconton around daybreak Friday and attacked three people inside.

Fifty-nine year old Daniel Purvis was beaten with a cordless drill, but managed to get away and run to a neighbor's house.

Forty-three year old Linda Paschal and her 13 year old daughter, Jessica were also attacked.  Linda Paschal was beaten to death with a hoe and shovel. She was dead at the scene.  Her daughter was also viciously beaten and underwent brain surgery in Thomasville this afternoon.

Investigators say Bryant then went into a bathroom and slit his own throat with a knife.

He survived and is hospitalized, under armed guard, in Albany.

Terry Bryant was just released from jail yesterday after pleading guilty to  breaking into that same mobile home two weeks ago.

Neighbors tell WALB News 10 that as recently as last night, Linda Paschal told them she feared for her life.
