Georgia State Parks want you to get outdoors this weekend, and they're throwing in a little incentive to get you to visit.

On Saturday, all 63 of the state's parks and historic sites will offer free admission and free parking. In addition, special events are being planned at many of the parks, including some in our area. The free day is part of a statewide effort called "Get Outdoors Georgia" and comes just in time for Father's Day weekend.

"It's a program that was implemented by Georgia State Parks to get people outside, outdoors and to help them get fit." said Rod Brehm, Assistant Manager at the Georgia Veterans State Park.

Other special events are occurring at parks in Blakely, Thomasville, Waycross, McRae and Adel.
