Albany- An Albany surgeon is suing his former partners. Dr. John Bagnato filed a civil suit against Albany Surgical.
Bagnato says he's entitled to some portion of $201,000 from accounts receivable for medical services he performed while working there. Bagnato worked there for nearly eight years. He says the dispute is about the value of his share of the ownership of the partnership. Bagnato left the practice and formed Palmyra Surgical.
Dr. Price Corr said the lawsuit wasn't unexpected because it has been difficult to sever the relationship with Bagnato even though it was his choice. He also said because there was no written employment contract with Bagnato and because Bagnato didn't have to buy into the practice there should be no payout.
