Albany - You can get an up close and personal experience with one of the many animals at the Flint RiverQuarium.

Meet Earl, a four year old American Alligator. He's one of several animals you can actually pet at the Flint RiverQuarium through an Animal Encounter.

Volunteer Shannon Knepp says, "I've never been one that's afraid of hands on experiences and I feel like if you have hands on experience, you can experience it a lot better to the public and that's what we're here for, to educate the public."

"We do animal encounters so people can get up close and personal with the animals of Georgia," said Herpetologist Kelly Putnam.

You can have an animal encounter at the Flint RiverQuarium every Saturday at 11 and 4 and on Sundays at 4 PM.
