Ochlocknee -- The GBI is investigating a fatal shooting in Ochlocknee. Thomas County Sheriff's deputies were called out to a mobile home on Groover Street around 8 o'clock Wednesday night. When they arrived on the scene, they found Eddie Myrick suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. Investigators say the victim's son, Demetrius Myrick, was behind the shooting.
"Demetrius is in custody, and the EMTs responded to Ochlocknee and tried life saving measures and took him to Archbold where Eddie Myrick passed," said Cpt. John Richards with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators searched a field behind the house for the gun.
Demetrius Myrick is being held in the Thomas County Jail charged with murder.
