Moultrie-  A Moultrie soldier who was injured Easter Sunday in a roadside bomb in southern Baghdad has died.

McCoy had been the lone survivor of an improved explosive device that killed four others March 23rd.

Sgt. Steve McCoy suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away Tuesday afternoon at the burn center at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Wednesday they held a memorial service to remember the Colquitt County hero. 

Family members said they were proud of McCoy who was equally proud to be an American solider serving in Iraq. They plan to hold a memorial service soon in Moultrie.

McCoy was a Colquitt County High School graduate and is survived by his wife Tabitha and their twins Landen and Ryley. Sgt. Steve McCoy was 23.
