Candidates for political office go back to school

June 10, 2008

Albany-  Candidates for political office went back to school Tuesday.

An Education Policy Forum was held at Albany Technical College to better prepare candidates running for the General Assembly or school board. It teaches them about the history, policy, finance, and economics of education.

"I try to make it plain so everyone can understand where the money comes from, how it has to be spent, and some of the realities of financing education in Georgia," said John Culbreath, ASU Professor, former Dougherty County Superintendent.

Tuesday's forum was the fifth of twelve forums statewide.
