CRCT retest results can't come fast enough

June 9, 2008

Albany--  Anxious students could know as early as Friday whether they passed CRCT retests.

In Dougherty County, 725 elementary and 516 middle school students failed portions of the Criterion Referenced Competency Tests. Many of them spent two weeks in abbreviated summer school for CRCT remediation.

Last Wednesday and Thursday, they were retested. Parents, students and school leaders are anxiously awaiting results.

"You never know until the numbers come back but the people in our system feel good about the remediation and initial instruction and we feel our numbers will be a lot better," said Public Information Officer R.D. Harter.

Students underwent rigorous lessons leading up to the re-testing. Results take about 7 to 10 business days.
