Albany -- People in Albany spent time on the tennis courts Saturday afternoon along with hundreds of other cities across the country during a Tennis Block Party.
The United States Tennis Association invited people of all ages to attend informative sessions at Darton College. Players there got a quick lesson and learned tennis fitness tips.
The USTA hopes the exposure would encourage some of the players to pursue the sport.
"Tennis is a sport that you can play your entire life. It doesn't require a team, you can play pick-up games in your local park or you can join a league. So it's a fun sport that will get them active and interactive with other people," said Albany Parks and Recreation Director, Suzanne Davis.
More than 100 cities also held similar programs today.
