Albany -- The South Georgia Wildcats will have a familiar face in the defensive back field this week, as Matt Jackson has rejoined the team.
Jackson was not with the Cats through the first half of the season because of work related conflicts.
The former Florida Gator was second on the team with six interceptions last year, despite joining the Wildcats in the fifth week of the season.
With just a 5-4 record coming out of their bye-week, head coach Derek Stingley says he's much more willing to accept the occasional missed practice if it means more wins.
"I have to go with what I believe in because we're in the second half of the season," says Stingley. "He may miss a practice or two a week, but I'm ok with it. I'm the head coach. If that's how I want it, that's how it's going to be."
Jackson says, "That's the good thing about being with coach Stingley. This will be our fourth year together, so I know the coverage and the defense he's going to run. The only thing different is the teams we're going to be playing, but that will come with film study."
