Dougherty County--Upset Dougherty County property owners got together on Thursday night to raise money for a legal fight against the county's property reassessments.

The Dougherty County Taxpayers Association filed suit to toss out the countywide reappraisals.

The county wants the suit thrown out.

The association held the meeting and auction at Stonebridge Country Club.

"We're not against taxes it's just a matter of having them applied in a fare and equitable way which that tax assessment does not," Richard ThomasCo-Chair Dougherty County Taxpayers Association.

Organizers hope to raise $50,000 dollars for the association's legal fund.
