Sylvester selects new police chief

Sylvester-  The city of Sylvester has a new police chief.

Moultrie Police Sergeant Alfred Anderson was selected for the job from 28 candidates.

Former Chief Tommy Bozeman has been filling in as chief since January when Chief Tony Strenth asked to be reassigned as the city's lead investigator so he could run for Worth County Chief Magistrate.

Wednesday was Anderson's first day on the job.
