Buster Posey is Golden Spikes finalist

Tallahassee, Fl. - Leesburg's Buster Posey has already won one national player of the year award in college baseball.

The Florida State catcher is favorite to win another.

Buster Posey and Georgia shortstop Gordon Beckham are among five finalists for the Golden Spikes Award.

Missouri pitcher Aaron Crow, San Diego's Brian Matusa and Arizona State's Brett Wallace are the other finalists.

ahira's J.D. Drew is the last Florida State Seminole to win the Golden Spikes Award.

Posey is the favorite with his nation's best .472 batting average.

Posey is also expected to be one of the, if not the first, player selected in Thursday's baseball draft. Buster Posey is more concerned with wininng FSU's Super regional series this weekend against Wichita State.

Game one is Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Tallahassee.
