Health care in Tifton is getting a face lift.
A new intensive care unit will open tomorrow at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The facility took two years to build and cost 15.2-million dollars.
All of the equipment used at a traditional I-C-U is on hand... but the focus is different than most facilities.
Tina Mann, Intensive Care Unit Director said: "What we are hoping than this new Intensive Care Unit offers is a time for the family to get involved in the patient care. We want the family here when physicians make rounds, we'd like to have the family involved in the daily care of their loved ones."
The new I-C-U offers extended visiting hours and has 20-rooms, six more than the old one.
If all goes well patients will begin using the facility tomorrow morning.
