Absentee voting starts today

June 2, 2008

Albany - Starting Monday, people who want to vote absentee in the General Primary in July, may apply for a ballot.

A voter who will be out of town on Election Day, is 75 or older, is an election official, or will be on duty at a job involving public safety may apply for an absentee ballot and actually cast their ballot in person. You may also have an application sent to your home. Absentee voting begins 45 days before any election.

You may also vote the week before an election for any reason. For more information, call your elections office.
