Valdosta - State leaders say economic growth in the Valdosta area should be a model for other areas.

State Department of Economic Development Commissioner Ken Steward visited Lowndes County today. He met with leaders from Cook, Berrien, Brooks, Lanier and Lowndes Counties.

He says the success of this region's economy is an example for other parts of the state.

"The counties in this part of the state are working together so well for purposes of creating jobs and investments.  It's a model for the state of Georgia," Stewart says.

Stewart spoke at a luncheon for the South Georgia Partnership for regional development hosted by the Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce.
