Crisler lawyer indicted

May 30, 2008

Americus - An attorney hired by the family of a woman killed in a hit and run in Albany, is charged with forgery.

Paul Owen Farr of Americus was hired by Ginny Crisler's family after she was hit by a car and killed at Hunter's Mill shopping center in 2004.

But Farr never filed a suit on behalf of the Crisler family, and in a bizarre turn of events, prosecutors say he faked a lawsuit settlement, and gave the Crisler's $1 Million out of his law firm's account.

Farr is accused of forging a document from the Bank of Zurich, which doesn't exist.

He was indicted Tuesday and booked at the Sumter County jail yesterday and released. Earlier this year, he was granted a voluntary suspension of his law license.
